Our planet is running out of resources. The Earth is showered with waste and we are witnessing climate change and its consequences on an unprecedented scale. Consumerism plays a huge role among its causes. But what if every one of us would restrain from thoughtless shopping? Start noticing things we already own and give them the proper care to make them last longer? At IKEA, we know plenty of ideas to prolong life of everyday objects. These are small and simple activities that can, however, make a bigger change. They are so important to us that we have asked an artist to create a series of paintings. “For Longer” collection is a result of this cooperation. The paintings, together with their descriptions, might seem like care instruction manuals but they don’t lack artistic expression and sense of humour. All this is supposed to encourage the viewers to have a closer look at everyday objects and to start making changes at their own home.

Zasoby naszej planety kurczą się. Ziemia zasypywana jest odpadami, a my jesteśmy świadkami zmian klimatu i ich skutków na niespotykaną dotąd skalę. Ogromną rolę odgrywa tu nasz konsumpcyjny styl życia. A gdyby tak każdy z nas, zamiast kupować bez zastanowienia, dostrzegł wokół siebie rzeczy, które już ma i zatroszczył się o to, by służyły jak najdłużej? W IKEA znamy mnóstwo sposobów na przedłużenie życia codziennych przedmiotów. To proste i drobne czynności, które mogą zmienić bardzo wiele. Są dla nas tak ważne, że poprosiliśmy artystkę, by poświęciła im cykl obrazów. W wyniku współpracy powstała kolekcja „Na Dłużej”. Obrazy i ich opisy mają częściowo charakter instrukcji dbania o meble i akcesoria, ale nie brak im też artystycznego wyrazu i poczucia humoru. Wszystko po to, by zachęcić odbiorcę do przyjrzenia się swoim codziennym przedmiotom i rozpoczęcia zmian we własnym domu.
